A that’s so encouraging word
I was asked to write an encouraging word for my friend’s ministry, Overcome and I wanted to share it on my own platform as I think this is a word that will resonate at any time it is clicked into and read. Plus, my faith is what has gotten me through some of the hardest seasons of my life (I.e. health battle and diagnosis then struggling to find my purpose post diagnosis).
I do not know what you are going through or what season God is currently walking through with you, but I do know that we are all going through something, especially with the current state of our world. For me personally, I have been going through a season of discipline with my routine with God, my finances, and truly giving up control to Him. You may be going through something similar and/or something completely different, but no matter what you are going through, we all have to trust God.
In my quiet time, God has been repeating the same thing to me, which is simply “trust me”. The thing about trusting God is looking at the future with positivity and excitement instead of negativity and worry. There may be feelings of anxiousness, worry, fear, etc. you are experiencing right now, but I challenge you to talk with Him, release those emotions, and ask Him how He wants you to walk through this season.
Some of the verses that He has pointed out to me when I struggle with releasing those above emotions and/or struggling to understand His timing are:
· Ecclesiastes 3:1
· Philippians 4:6-7
· Proverbs 3:5-6
· Pslam 37:4
· Jeremiah 29:11-12
A friendly reminder that God will work out everything for His good and there is light found in that. God’s plans and timing for everything is perfect whether we see it at first or not.
I highly recommend the book “It's Not Supposed to Be This Way: Finding Unexpected Strength When Disappointments Leave You Shattered” by Lysa TerKeurst .
