Le Blanc Los Cabos

Cabo is my happy place and I never thought it would be as I had not planned on going to Cabo until my honeymoon plans were changed 3-4 times. Cabo is my happy place for many reasons, but specifically due to finding a place I feel safe to live my best celiac life - like truly relaxing and not on constant alert about where I can safely eat for the next meal.

This magical place is “Le Blanc Los Cabos”.

This blog was updated on 07/26/2023 to reflect updates to the resort and feedback after staying at this resort for the third time.

Like I mentioned above, honeymoon plans were changed numerous times for many reasons (we will get to Bali one day) and the main thing my husband and I focused on was food safety for me, so I legitimately typed in “Gluten Free Mexico All Inclusive”. I know, kind of throwing a dart at a dart board and hoping for a bullseye, which is not usually how I approach things, but I lucked out with this time. Anyways, I kept seeing “Le Blanc Los Cabos” in this search and even saw that a few other bloggers in the celiac and/or gluten-free communities had positive experiences.

After seeing other’s experiences, I started to do my own research on the specific resort, which led me to doing research in the “parent” resort, which is Palace Resorts. I read reviews, looked at all the menus at the resorts offered in the Cabo area, and sent out email communications to the final resort we were very interested in. The resort was very responsive, so between their responses, my own research, & the other reviews I had read, we booked!

We spent 10 days in Los Cabos paradise - and I have to say I HAVE NEVER EATEN SO WELL ON A VACATION BEFORE IN MY LIFE! So let me give you a little look into how the staff took care of me, specifically with celiac:

  • Upon checking in, each person fills out a guest profile and there is an entire allergen list you can checkmark plus you can also write in anything extra. That profile stays with you and your room your entire stay (and saves for future visits, if you come back - trust me, you’ll want to).

  • The butlers including the wait staff at every single restaurant knew I had celiac - so they would tell me if the goodies left in our room were safe for me (if not, they brought me something that was) and the wait staff would double check my food restrictions even after sitting down.

  • They have items clearly marked on every menu, but I still would ask questions. If the waiter did not know (typically, very new waiters) then they got the restaurant manager and the head chef.

  • At the coffee shop and at the breakfast buffet, they have a designated spot for gluten free breads & muffins along with a designated toaster (just at the buffet)  that has signage explicitly stating that this toaster was to be used only for gluten free items.

  • If something was not marked “GF” and/or I was craving something, I felt confident in asking and the staff genuinely letting me know if that could safely be accommodated. Like gluten free churros (not the best, but they tried and it was so appreciated) and gluten free french toast *drooling thinking about it*

(Above): This is something you will find not only at the Cafe but also the buffet, which is a dedicated gluten free area for bread & pastries along with a dedicated toaster for those things!

In general, the staff takes care of you. Le Blanc is a 5 diamond, adult only (21+ only) - all inclusive. So be prepared to be “wooed” and pampered. We had such a pleasant experience on our honeymoon that we went back 7 months later and had just as an amazing experience (we wanted to make sure we weren’t just blissed out from our honeymoon). We also just recently went back in May 2023 for our baby moon and had another fantastic experience, especially with one of the chef’s dinner where they accommodated not only my celiac, but worked my pregnancy needs as well. I still got the FULL chef’s dinner experience (minus the wine pairing with it), but got to try everything everyone else was trying in regards to food and not feel like I was missing out.

There is some staff that may not be 100% sure on something, but they usually will go check with the manager and the head chef! Again, I have not had an issue and have had an amazing experience each time we’ve stayed.

We will be exploring other Palace resorts in the future (more family friendly), so I will make sure to keep you all up to date on those!

We have referred multiple friends to this resort who have also had an amazing experience too. If you ever want to talk more about Le Blanc, ask specific questions, and/or any miscellaneous topics, please email me or direct message me on Instagram!

OK before I sign off on this blog post, I am going to share our ranking of the restaurants and how well they accommodate my celiac needs:

  1. Blanc Asia now Yama

  2. Lumiere

  3. Blanc International

  4. Blanc Ocean

  5. Mezze now Habibi

  6. Blanc Italia now Bella

  7. Blanc Pizza (did not eat here any of the times we’ve been)

A few other random notes about the resort, restaurants and food:

  • This is not only an all inclusive, but also an adult only resort.

  • For breakfast we really enjoy room service, Ocean, International (buffet), and Habibi.

  • The cafe offers some amazing desserts, pastries and coffees! Habibi 100% has the best coffee, but is only available for breakfast on Sundays and Mondays (highly recommend going).

  • The pool Eats are amazing too - every day there is a taco truck, which is a MUST!

  • The pool staff will come by keeping a drink (non-alcoholic or alcoholic) in your hand and you can also order off a pool menu! The pool menu is very easy to order from, which can accommodate a variety of food needs / restrictions like with celiac disease.

  • At any of the restaurants, I highly recommend asking for “the experience” if you don’t know what to pick - they’ve taken great care of me whether I exclusively pick what to eat or not in regards to my food needs.

  • There are also some dinners on the beaches that are not extra cost that your butler can coordinate for you, which the head chef can walk you through what is safe and not safe for you to enjoy.
