That’s so Chocolate Milk
If you’ve ben around TSC the last few years, you will know that Bare Life is my favorite hot cocoa to utilize for not only hot chocolate, but also in my baking. I appreciate so many things about Bare Life as a company and as a product, especially the ingredients utilized. Learn more about Bare Life by clicking here.
I have been thinking about how I can creative with what I am making in my Almond Cow and homemade chocolate milk came across my mind. And do not worry if you do not have an Almond Cow, you can still make this! I will provide a few ways to make this recipe, so it can be enjoyed by all (hopefully)! I have not had chocolate milk in ages, especially since most of the “good tasting” chocolate milks are not dairy free and/or not made with the ingredients I would prefer to consume. So that is where Bare Life’s Coconut Hot Cocoa Mix came into play. This recipe is very customizable to how chocolatey and sweet you like your chocolate milk!
Ingredients:
3 TBSP (least amount of chocolatey) - 8 TBSP (the most amount of chocolatey) of Bare Life Coconut Hot Cocoa Mix
I know quite a range of measurement here, but like I said, you can make it as chocolatey as you want! Some simply like the hint of the chocolate and some like to make sure they can fully taste the chocolate.
1 C coconut flakes/shreds or 1 C almonds
I prefer the almonds, but again it is up to you!
2 TBSP of maple syrup
You can add more, but the coconut hot cocoa mix has some good sweetness to it already
*This makes about 5C of chocolate milk.
Directions:
Fill your Almond Cow to the max level of water.
Fill the basket with either the coconut flakes or the almonds.
Add the maple syrup and cocoa mix to the basket.
Screw the basket to the top of the almond cow and put the Almond Cow together, so you can blend it.
Hit the button and let the Almond Cow go through its cycle. Then hit the button one more time. So you should put the Almond Cow through two cycles. This will make it a little creamier.
Pour into your cup to enjoy fresh and/or into your milk jug to enjoy later!
Notes:
If you do not have an Almond Cow, no worries! Simply grab your favorite dairy free milk (or whatever your choice is for your milk), pour into a glass, add 2-3 TBSP of the cocoa mix, 1/2 TBSP of maple syrup (you can also skip this), and mix with a electronic frother.
You can also throw your choice of milk, hot cocoa mix, and syrup into a blender. Blend it up for 15-25 seconds for not only a quick blend, but a fluffier chocolate milk!
For this I would utilize the above bullet’s ingredient amounts as that is more for a singular serving. However, if you have a larger blender then please feel free to follow the serving amount for the cocoa and maple syrup that is stated in the main recipe.
